Visual identity, branding & design work for a Manhattan college

Swedish Institute is the oldest continuously operating massage therapy college in the nation, founded in NYC in 1916. In the 2010s, they expanded their program offerings into the allied health field – requiring a need for a brand refresh.
In 2019, I worked closely with the college’s leadership to evolve, modernize and streamline the brand. This included a new logo, seal, brand guidelines, photoshoots, revising all existing collateral and internal templates.
The problem
Outdated logo, seal, lack of typography, color palette or guidelines. This led to an inconsistent brand that felt misaligned.
The solution
Refresh the visual identity through the design of a new logo, seal, color palette, typography and establishment of brand guidelines.

Brand Refresh
The goal of the 2019 brand refresh was to modernize the visual identity while staying authentic to the college’s history and brand. My redesign was heavily inspired by previous iterations of the visual identity, revised and updated for the modern and digital landscape.
